With the success of Tame Impala and Pond, you knew the next wave of psychedelic-rock bands would be emerging soon from Australia. Here’s one of them, Melbourne duo Sun Bazel, who released their pretty awesome debut EP last month. It’s not the firecracker of an album like their predecessors, but instead it’s a dreamy trip highlighted by the excellent “Halfway”.

“Oosheen of Mynd” is another terrific, trippy tune that has touches of DIIV but finishes off with a great, distorted riff. “Cloud Hill” comes closest to Pond as well as to the modern-day psych-rock legends, Flaming Lips. Hear these two tracks below. Get the EP on Bandcamp.

Sun Bazel are Harry Hayes and Jack Foy. In addition to their EP, you can also hear “A Bell” on the April 17th Edition of The Weekend Showcase, where you can hear 19 other cool, new tunes.
