For the last three years, David T. Rapaport (aka STITCX) and Joseph Braley have been supporting Saskatoon’s blues-rock god Jordan Cook – a.k.a. Reignwolf. They’ve now embarked on a new project that builds on their experiences with Reignwolf and their influences such as Black Sabbath.
Together with Katie Blackstock, the trio have formed Maszer, and last week they released their debut single, “Fata Mirage”. Unlike Reignwolf’s cathartic music, the song is dark, restrained, and atmospheric. It recalls the hypnotic rock of Savages, the great rock band based in London.
The band is in the midst of completing its first EP, which should be out later this year.
In the meantime, check out “Fata Mirage” and 19 other indie tracks on the May 15th Edition of the Weekend Showcase.
