Whereas many new artists and bands may try to blow you away with synths, beats, and whatever blasting instrument or software they can get their hands on, newcomers Teenage Love blow you away with their fabulous harmonies and playful melodies. Formed in July 2014 by Katy Gunn of Brooklyn, New York, and Anna Lidell, a native of Copenhagen, Denmark, the two have created a fantastic, dynamic project of sultry, soul-infused indie pop / dream pop. Imagine Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius singing to tUnE-yArDs’ clever and multi-faceted instrumentation. That’s what you get with Teenage Love.

Their latest single, “Deserted Places”, is lush and almost ethereal, best highlighting the duo’s captivating sound. “Lazer Eyes”, meanwhile, captures the interplay of the aforementioned indie artists. We expect these two singles to be on their forthcoming, debut EP, due out some time this summer. Obviously, we’re pretty excited to hear the entire album.

You can also check out “Deserted Places” on the May 22nd Edition of the Weekend Showcase, which features 20 new singles from around the world.
