Sea Legs – “Witches Have Friends”

by

Sea Legs“Witches Have Friends” is the blistering new single by Australian quartet Sea Legs. The song is a deep, throbbing rock tune. It’s not quite in the atmosphere of prog rock or post-punk, but there are elements of these genres that are incorporated into this anthemic track. The song recalls Portugal. The Man and their multi-genre, infectious sound. Besides the approach, the song is clever to describe that all people have a circle of people they can depend upon regardless of what people think.

Sea Legs aren’t necessarily newcomers to the indie music scene, at least Down Under. Last year, their star exploded after releasing the rocking “Christopher Strong”, which is below. The song received plenty of airplay on the awesome Aussie station Triple J as well as charting on Hype Machine. With “Witches Have Friends”, Sea Legs are now setting their sights on winning over fans in North America, Europe, and everywhere. This band has a huge future ahead of itself, possibly being its generation’s INXS.

Sea Legs are Byron Knight (vocals, guitar); Eli Milojkovic (bass, backing vocals); Tim Andrews (keys, guitar, vocals); and Jacob Borg (drums).

You can hear Sea Legs’ “Witches Have Friends” on the June 19th Edition of the Weekend Showcase, a weekly playlist featuring new music from around the world.
