Since 2015, we have asked independent artists to share their favorite memories from their time at SXSW. In just three years, this project has become one of our most popular features thanks to the growing interests of bands and singers from around the world. These memories are from Talos.
A year ago, the Irish electronic / ambient band released their debut album, ‘Wild Alee’, which is a stunning, cinematic affair that fans of Bon Iver, Phoria, and Tycho will absolutely adore. It’s music to completely get lost in and in the process find yourself in a place that is pure bliss. The sextet – which is fronted by founder Eoin French (vocals/composer/production/keys) and consists of Josh Sampson (percussion), Sam McNicholl (percussion/vocals), David O’Connell (strings/keys), Sonny Sampson (bass), and Alex Sampson (guitar/vocals) – apply their musical approach to their lives. It explains how their SXSW Memories are almost Zen-like. Or maybe that’s just how Sam McNicholl writes.
