We’ve covered nearly the waterfront of music genres on the RBC Bluesfest Revue, and today we feature a blues-roots band that has only been around for two years, yet has played in some pretty impressive festivals.

Cold Capital is a blues-roots band that was formed in “rural hills of Ontario”. Combining the sounds of former Canadian blues-roots-rock stalwarts Staggered Crossing, The John Butler Trio, and The Black Crowes, Cold Capital has been entertaining and rocking crowds at every show. Their live show and grassroots sound has resulted in them playing at the Canadian Music Festival each of the past two years, a terrific accomplishment for such a young band. You can find out yourself why this band has won over crowds and critics by checking them out on July 4 when they take the Blacksheep Inn Stage at 6:00.

In the meantime, you can download their self-titled EP, the second of their discography, for free on their bandcamp site (see below).

Cold Capital consists of Erik Hertzberg (lead vocals, guitar), Matt Muir (guitar), Andrew Erlandson (bass, vocals), Nick Hertzberg (organ/piano, guitar, vocals), and Jason Cote (drums).
