Toronto’s Soft Wounds are a young quartet who make shoegaze-y indie music. Similar to Brooklyn’s Crystal Stilts and Porcelain in their approach, Soft Wounds have released their first demo, which, while not surprisingly is a bit rough around the edges, shows tremendous promise. There is a dreamy quality to their shoegaze indie rock, which is best captured on the extended “Forty Winks” and the opener “See the Sun”.

The “Demo” can be downloaded either for free or for a generous donation (name your price) on the band’s Bandcamp site. They’ve been in the studio rehearsing and writing additional songs, such as “Baby Blue”, for which the video is provided below.

And if you’re in the Toronto area, they band will be making their debut live performance on Friday, January 2 at the Silver Dollar. Details here. Check. Them. Out.

Soft Wounds consists of Charlie Berger and Matt Rimon on guitar and vocals, Andrew Peach on bass, and Geordie Robbins keeping the rest in line on drums.
