Our take: Two Cartoons are originally from the southern coastal city of Dunedin, New Zealand. The area has developed a reputation for music that is laid back yet optimistic and at times even euphoric. Those elements are on full display with Two Cartoons’ latest single, “Dreams”. However, it also has a West Coast, LA-scene vibe with the terrific harmonies during the chorus and the smooth melodies. The song represents a slight change in sound, though, as the band heads more in the pop and folk-pop direction.
Other news: Three months ago, Two Cartoons released a two-track EP, Lost Boys Club. It’s more of a jangle-rock compilation. You can hear it below.
