My final evening at Osheaga started with The War on Drugs. Following that was another heart breaker for me. The last time Hot Chip played Osheaga it was perfect. They headlined the Green stage and the intimacy of the smaller stage and the dark evening suited them. This was another top 3 artists I regret missing. I instead went to Brand New who also played the first Osheaga festival I went to and I was planning to spend most of the remainder of the evening on the back stages catching Broods, Tove Lo and Banks, all artists I had recently discovered but never had an opportunity to see live. None of them disappointed.
I did return to the main stage to catch most of The Black Keys act. They’ve been a favourite band for a long time. I was too late to photograph them this time, but it was an outstanding way to close out another fantastic year at Osheaga.
This weekend in Montreal is turning into a wonderful part of my summer and I am already looking forward to next year!
