Union SkyIt’s only a matter of time. We’ve all uttered those words on a few occasions, but this statement could be Union Sky‘s tagline. The trio from West Florida and Atlanta are on the verge of stardom with their The Weeknd-style approach of blending electronic, R&B, hip hop, and pop music together into one delirious mix.

Three months ago, they shared “Open Space”, a track that demonstrated Union Sky’s intoxicating elixir of beats, melodies, harmonies, and quick word play. The song was shared as part of a split single with the second track being “Replay”, for which we are pleased to premiere the video today.

“Replay”, like “Open Space”, is another genre-blending and time-spanning single. The single blends ’90s-style synth and electronica with a contemporary pop structure and R&B textures. And if that wasn’t even, there’s a 30-second rap solo that helps add a little spice to the song. “Replay”, however, isn’t one of those typical electro-pop-R&B songs whose sole intention is to make you dance. On the contrary, as Union Sky have shown time and time again with their music, the track is meant to elicit an emotional response – in this case about the pains of losing someone and how heartbreak can be the most crippling experience we ever encounter. “Replay” is another demonstration that Union Sky are not just another band.
