Since 2015, we have asked independent artists to share their favorite memories from their time at SXSW. In just a couple of years, this project has become one of our most popular features thanks to the growing interests of bands and singers from around the world. Forty-five artists participated in this year’s edition, including Pines.

The duo from Adelaide, Australia, may not be a household name within the electronic scene, but they are an internet sensation. They’ve only released a handful of songs, yet they have netted nearly a half-million streams on SoundCloud alone. They’re not the typical electronic duo, though, as they prefer ambient textures and blissful soundscapes. Think Bonobo, Tycho, and Flume rolled into one to get an idea of the sensuality of their music. Their time in Austin was full of energy.

1. Getting into the Apple Music Vince Staples showcase. Amazing performance, amazing sound and lighting and the coolest vibe in Austin that night!

2. Playing at the Aussie BBQ alongside so many incredible Australian acts – was an honour to be a part of this event.

3. Meeting our new US friends and partying at the Weezer show. Plenty of tequilas all round!
