If you’re looking for blues at the RBC Bluesfest, then look no further than local act, Wicked Grin. Their sound is old-school blues, making you feel like you’re in the deep south and chilling out by the Bayou. But it would be wrong to say that Wicked Grin’s sound is rooted in the blues, as they also master the brooding, smokey blues. For instance, “Down on Love” is a chilling number – rough around the edges yet stunning in its interior. If you want rocking, jittering blues, they can also play that, such as their vibrant number, “Midnight Howl”.
They have a new album out, Shame on Me, which you can buy at CD Baby and iTunes.
Wicked Grin will take the Black Sheep Inn Stage on Saturday, July 12 at 2:00. Here’s hoping The Texas Horns will make an appearance.
