This is the second last Rendition episode of the year, so we’re focusing on tracks to bring the year to a glorious end. There are five great remixes for your listening pleasure, so let’s now waste any more time.

Unfortunately due to a combination of severe jet lag from a recent move, I ran out of time and energy to write fulsome remarks. That said, who wants to read what I have to say when you can hear the tracks yourself.

French Horn Rebellion – “Play Your Part” (ft. Spencer Ludwig) (LEFTI Remix)

LEFTI has always impressed us with his great remixes, as he tends to dabble around the edges to raise the euphoria level of a song. He’s done that once again with this stellar remix of French Horn Rebellion‘s “Play Your Part”. The song is transformed from a bouncy electro-pop tune to a whirling club track.

Major Lazer – “Be Together” (Julian Remix)

How does one have the audacity to take a song from one of electronic music’s biggest acts? Not only that, but to make the remix even better than the original? Newcomer Julian, who hails from France but is now based in New York City, has done exactly that with Major Lazer‘s “Be Together”. The remix is absolutely stunning, and this is Julian’s first publicly-released track.

Another duo that is creating a reputation for creating brilliant remixes is Vancouver’s Young Bombs. Like what they did with Emily Vaughn’s “Better Off”, they’ve turned Coasts“Oceans” into a cataclysmic club-pop track. This is a song that belongs on every party playlist this weekend.

Dannic & Sick Individuals – “Feel Your Love” (Alex Fosse Remix)

We don’t usually showcase remixes that are EDM-oriented, but newcomer Alex Fosse‘s re-imagination of Dannic & Sick Individuals“Feel Your Love” is pretty special. The Paris-based producer and DJ demonstrates great balance in creating the crazy and mind-altering feel heard in clubs without going overboard with the beats and electro-rhythms. Look out Calvin Harris and AVICII, you’ll soon have company.

Paul Cook – “Wherever You Are” (Embody Remix)

We needed to have at least one remix that incorporate some ambient textures. On his remix of Paul Cook‘s sublime “Wherever You Are”, London-based artist Embody takes the song up the “lushness” scale by adding dashes of slight electronic tones and drops. But the key is ensuring the vocal component remains intact, which Embody does perfectly.
