Our CoverBack Thursday is an almost unbelievable one. One of the better live sets witnessed during SXSW included The Twilight Sad. The Scottish band gets the ultimate compliment from The Cure‘s Robert Smith who has been a fan of The Twilight Sad for quite a few years. After a few different e-mails back and forth Smith agreed to cover one of the songs from Nobody Wants To Be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave  and he chose “There’s A Girl In The Corner”.

The Twilight Sad are completely excited to have Robert Smith cover one of their songs. From their Facebook page they noted  – “Hearing someone that is one of our musical heroes cover one of our songs, and sing the words that I wrote in my bedroom, is one of the most amazing things that has happened to us. Thanks again Robert for taking the time to do this.”

The cover song is part of a AA-side 7″ vinyl for their latest single “It Never Was The Same” but unfortunately is already sold out. We are posting Robert Smith’s version and also the original version by The Twilight Sad.
