For those who like: Electric Light Orchestra, Work Drugs

Our take: For a few years, Los Angeles’ Kisses have moved people with their infectious brand of indie pop. However, their new singles see a slight change in their approach. “Lake Shrine”, which they released in late March and which was included on the April 3rd Edition of the Weekend Showcase, was lush and dreamy. Their latest song, “A Groove” is a sparkling disco-pop song. It has the grooves of Electric Light Orchestra but the modern disco spin of Philadelphia-based Work Drugs. It’s a brilliant song that could be played in a dark night club or while driving through the barren streets in the wee hours of the morning. While the song is slightly different from what Kisses have produced in the past, “A Groove” retains the duo’s sense of melody and rhythm.

Other news: “A Groove” is the second single from Kisses’ third full-length album, Rest in Paradise. The record will be released later this year. Check their duo’s social media pages for updates on an exact release date.
